We have run regular Holiday Clubs, usually during the school spring half term (February) and the first or second week of the school summer holidays, catering cater for children aged 4 years and upwards to teenagers. The teens are an excellent resource who care for the younger members as well as offering practical help during the day. The younger members enjoy the fun of being treated as "special people" by elder peers and just enjoying the games and craft activities that are offered.
The pattern of the Holiday Clubs is games and craft-based as we are fortunate to have gifted adult volunteers from the community (who are all DBS-checked) who are willing to offer their services.
The very first Holiday Club took place in 2004, and they have been running ever since. Each club has a different theme - recent themes have included "Care for Creation" (caring for the environment), "On Your Marks" (Olympic preparation), "Giving your Best" (challenge yourself) and "Building Up - Chill Down" (summer sporting activities). Every club includes a generous helping of arts and craft activities, and all have a Christian thread running through them. We have also performed stories, shows and mimes as part of the programme.
